NEET PG 2025 D-Day Playbook: Beat the 8:30 Gate, Own 9–12:30
If you remember just one thing: the gate does not forgive. Once it’s 08:30 AM, you’re out—no matter what. The exam runs 09:00 AM–12:30 PM, and reporting starts early morning (check your card; many centers start around 07:00 AM). Don’t gamble with minutes.
Exam-Day Timeline (IST)
- Day −1 (dry run): Find your exact entry point / reporting counter—it may be different from the main gate. On exam day the reporting counter closes 30 minutes before the test starts; showing up at the campus but missing the reporting counter still gets you denied. Do a walkthrough today.
- D-Day, Early Morning: Arrive with buffer. Expect CCTV surveillance from entry till end, and no bio-breaks after you register until the exam actually starts.
- By 08:30 AM (hard stop): No entry under any circumstances after this. Don’t test the rule.
- 09:00 AM–12:30 PM: Exam window. No early exit.
Your “Golden 3” Documents (carry exactly as asked)
- Printed colour admit card (back-to-back on one A4). Don’t bring grayscale or single-side unless you enjoy risk.
- Original, valid Government photo ID (PAN/Voter ID/Passport/Driving License/Aadhaar) in hard copy—not a photocopy, not a phone image, not even DigiLocker inside the center.
- Photocopy of Permanent/Provisional SMC/MCI/NMC registration (center keeps it).
Entry into the hall without these is not permitted.
“Don’t Bring” List (the quiet career-savers)
- Electronics of any kind: mobile, earphones, smartwatches/health bands, calculators, pen drives, tablets, electronic pens/scanners, pagers. No pens or pencils either—a digital normal calculator appears on your screen.
- Stationery: notes, rough papers, writing pads, plastic pouches, erasers.
- Jewelry/ornaments: bracelets, rings, earrings, nose pin, chains, badges/brooches (religious items only after thorough check).
- Wallets, belts, caps, handbags, gloves, goggles.
- Food & bottled drinks (you’ll be given a water bottle inside).
- Anything that can hide a device (e.g., spy cams, BT dongles). No cloakroom is provided—don’t carry what you can’t ditch.
Inside the Center: What actually happens
- Identity verification & anti-impersonation checks: photo and/or thumb impression; staff may even inspect glasses or medical devices to rule out hidden electronics.
- Silence is policy: raise your hand for invigilator—no talking to candidates.
- Follow on-screen instructions during the test.
- No late entry, no early exit. Once you register pre-exam, no bio-break till the exam starts; after it starts, a break is allowed.
Special Cases (read twice)
- Henna/mehendi on fingers = biometric pain. Avoid it before the test.
- Medical devices/medicines (insulin pump, braces, inhalers, etc.): carry supporting medical documents, else you may be asked to leave them outside.
- Scribe requirement: prior NBEMS approval through the Communication Web Portal with documents per RPwD Act, 2016—no prior approval, no scribe entry.
Practical Hacks That Save Scores
- Map smart, not blind. The Google Map link on the admit card is for reference only; if the pin and printed address conflict, the printed center address is the truth. Visit the location a day earlier.
- Print discipline: Colour, back-to-back, single A4—exactly as stated. Reprint if smudged.
- Zero-baggage mindset: There’s no safekeeping at centers; every forbidden item you bring creates a last-minute crisis.

Fast FAQs (because anxiety asks weird questions)
- Can I show my ID from DigiLocker? Not inside the center. Original hard copy only.
- Is there a place to keep my phone? No. Don’t bring it.
- Water? Provided inside. Food isn’t.
- Got to pee before the bell? Once you’ve registered and until the exam starts, no bio-break. After it starts, yes. Plan accordingly.
Final Word
NEET PG doesn’t just test knowledge—it tests discipline under rules. Respect the 08:30 AM lock, carry the Golden 3, and travel light. Eliminate controllable risks so the only thing left to fight is the paper.
